Panth Pakar is 8 kms. north-east of Sitamarhi. It is said that after her marriage, Sita was carried in a palanquin to Ayodhya by this route.
An old Banyan tree is still standing here under which she is said to have rested for a while.
This little known place has an amazing mythical site evolved around a tree of Pakar. A Pakar tree has spread around a vast area in an astonishing manner. There are several trees of the same breed which are connected and sprouted through the roots as well as the branches which get detached eventually. The myth of this place goes as that after getting married to Ram Sita and Sri Ram rested here as they returned for the fortnightly ritual.
Panthpakar is surrounded by Sonbarsa Block towards North , Sitamarhi Block towards South , Majorganj Block towards west , Riga Block towards west . Sitamarhi , Bairgania , Chandan Bara , Sheohar are the nearby Cities to Panthpakar.
This Place is in the border of the Sitamarhi District and Sheohar District. Sheohar District Purnahiya is west towards this place .
