Sindhu Darshan Scheme 2026.

The Sindhu Darshan Teerth Yatra Financial Assistance Scheme 2026 is an initiative of the Tourism Department, Government of Bihar, designed to provide financial assistance to eligible permanent residents of Bihar who undertake the Sindhu Darshan pilgrimage in Ladakh. The scheme aims to support residents who may find the journey financially difficult while promoting awareness of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Under the scheme, eligible pilgrims can receive reimbursement of 50% of their actual travel expenses or ₹20,000 per person, whichever is lower. The financial assistance is provided only after completion of the pilgrimage and is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Key Highlights:

  • Applicants must be permanent residents of Bihar and above 18 years of age.
  • The scheme benefit can be availed only once in a lifetime.
  • Applicants receiving benefits under any similar State or Central Government scheme are not eligible.
  • Financial assistance will be provided to a maximum of 100 eligible pilgrims per financial year on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Applicants must submit the application within 60 days of completing the pilgrimage.
  • The pilgrimage must be completed during the official dates prescribed by the Jammu & Kashmir administration for the Sindhu Darshan pilgrimage/festival.
  • Required documents include proof of permanent residence, Aadhaar Card, a geo-tagged photograph at Sindhu Darshan Ghat, journey completion certificate/registration proof from a recognized organization, Inner Line Permit for Khardung La Pass, and an undertaking related to travel expenditure.
  • The scheme applies to eligible pilgrims undertaking the Sindhu Darshan pilgrimage in FY 2026–27 and subsequent financial years.
  • Eligible applicants can submit their applications online from 15 July 2026.
