Ara House is located on the premises of Maharaja College, southeast of the Ramna Maidan
It is a small double-storeyed structure on a raised plinth built by Richard Vicars Boyle, a railway engineer, before 1857 during the British rule in India. It was intended to be a billiards room, the proper residence being a short distance away.
