Chandraprabha temple of Lord Mahavira, 24th and last Jain Tirthankara, is situated in the middle of a pond on Jail Road, about 2 km from the Ara railway station.
It is said to be a replica of a temple in Pawapuri where Lord Mahavira attained nirvana. The temple was built in 1839. There are about 45 Jain Temples at Ara like Bisram, Shree Jain Bala Vishram, Shree Bahubali Jain Mandir, Parshwanath Temple, Masarh, Jain Siddhant Bhawan also situated here. The Jain Siddhant Bhawan has an impressive collection of ancient manuscripts, many of which are on display.
