Situated in the Biharsharif town of Nalanda district, there is the tomb of the great Sufi Hazrat Makhdoom Sheikh Sharfudin Ahmad Yahiya Maneri Rahmatullah Alaih, which is also known as Badi Dargah. He was born in a place called Maner in Patna. He had dedicated his life to the service of the human community by rising apart from the discrimination of caste and creed.
In today's era, people of all religions and communities come to this shrine with their complaints and their wishes are fulfilled. Here every year Eid from the fifth day onwards, a five-day Ursh fair is held, where lakhs of pilgrims from all over the country and abroad come and place a chadar on Baba's tomb and ask for vows.
Many of the best books written by him are still present in the Khanqah. Qawwali is also organized here in a traditional way during the Ursh Mela.
This place is buzzing with tourists all the time and holds an important place in the religious places of Muslims.
