Nawada district is located in the southern part of Bihar. It was earlier a sub-division of Gaya district and became a district on 26th january 1973. The district is divided into two parts by the Khuri river. Kakolat waterfall, Budhauli Monastery, Prajatantra Gate, Sankat Mochan Temple, Surya Mandir Handiya and Narad museum are some of the popular attractions of the district.
