The Old Secretariat is in Patna, the capital of Bihar, which is the administrative headquarters of the Bihar State Government. This building was completed by the British in the year 1917 in the Indo-Saracenic style. It is one of the largest government buildings in the city. There is a huge bell tower in a beautiful and lush green garden, whose height is about 184 feet.
The Old Secretariat complex has many notable things to do, such as the bronze statue of the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Bihar Kesari Shri Krishna Sinha being the main attraction here. There are many other notable buildings here, where there are offices of officers of different government departments. The Old Secretariat was designed by the famous Sydney architect, Joseph Munnings during the British period and built by Martin Byrne of Calcutta.
