Sun Temple Kandaha is an important religious and historical place that has been duly recognized by the Archaeological Survey of India as the Sun Temple located at Deo in Aurangabad district. This temple is situated about 3 km north of Gorho Ghat Chowk on the way to Tarasthan, Mahishi. Surya Mandir Kandaha The grand idol of the Sun God riding a seven-horse chariot is carved on a single granite slab.
On the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, there are inscriptions that have been confirmed by historians that this Sun temple was built during the period of King Narasimha Deva of the Carnatic dynasty, who ruled Mithila in the 14th century. It is said that a cruel Mughal emperor named Kalapahad had damaged the temple, which was later renovated by the famous saint-poet Laxminath Gosai. Sun Temple Kandaha is a symbol of infinite faith that holds special importance for the people of the Hindu community.
